A post and a reply to someone’s post (no word count) :
Welcome to our Second Discussion about the technological and institutional structure of our global media system.
I expect your comments based on Chapter 3. Tell me, in your reasoned and informed opinion, what is the most significant aspect of this chapter and why? What calls your attention along with the creation of the world’s modern communication infrastructure? Your replies during the next two weeks and especially your graded comment in the Assignments tab (see Module 2 Commentary), due on Wednesday, September 22 at 11:59 p.m., are worth 10 points. PLEASE NOTE: When grading your posts or replies and, especially, your module commentary, I will use the 3-part CANVAS platform’s Online Discussion Rubric Sample. I look for three criteria in all your written comments: the quality of your writing, proof of your knowledge and critical thinking, and the level of discussion or learning you generate. I am looking forward to your replies (at least two in every module) and your comment on the Assignments tab.
All the best! Reply to this comment:

Hello class. I have definitely learned a lot from reading chapter 3 of the book International Communications. This chapter focused on the communications infrastructure and how it was created to be what it is today. One of the biggest takeaways of this chapter was the different roles of telecommunications and how its growth helped form the communications infrastructure. I think one big moment that happened for the growth of telecommunications was the 1984 ‘open skies’ policy presented by United States President Ronald Reagan. This policy allowed for telecommunications networks to function in the same areas as national telecommunications networks. In addition, limits were placed on the government with their involvement in these telecommunication networks. This allowed for more freedom with these networks to expand. I think this policy was so important for these networks and would help shape how we operate with telecommunications efforts every day (for example like AT&T and other wireless phone services). One commentary:
In 250-300 words, explain whether or not you agree with a global or international regulation of the Internet and by whom? Make sure you explain why. See Chapter 3, Creating a Global Communication Infrastructure. Provide the “word-count” at the end of your comment.
