This assignment builds upon assignment 1 in which you entered data from a diabetes intervention study into Excel. Now that you have your data entered into an excel database, you are going to get to know your data and do some analyses.
You can do this work directly on your already created excel document by adding the answers in rows under your existing data. Be sure to make any corrections to your data based on the feedback you received from faculty from assignment 1 before completing assignment 2. Be sure to label your answers on the spreadsheet. Please upload the new document with the questions below answered. This is due by Sunday, September 19 at 23:55.
Please note that there are some helpful course materials for you to utilize as sources of assistance this week. There is a video and power point slides that discuss different types of variables and instructions on how to do calculations for this assignment in excel. Please also feel free to post questions in your discussion boards and help one another in this assignment.

Question 1: State level of measurement for each of these variables (nominal, ordinal, interval, ratio): Gender
A1C Levels (numerical)
A1C Levels (as you labeled them with ‘yes’ and ‘no)
Question 2: Calculate in excel the mean and standard deviation for ALL appropriate variable types in your database. For this step you will need to determine the type of variable that mean and standard deviation calculations are typically used for. I should be able to see your formulas/calculations in excel. You need to be able to see the formulas to get credit for these. Please round all answers to two places past the decimal point.
Question 3: Write a brief 2-3 sentences summarizing the conclusions of your findings from part 2. Write this in lay-man’s terms and it can be on your excel document, under your calculations. For example, if you calculated mean of the weight loss column, consider the outcome and why it is important to both a clinician and a patient. Consider the other analyses completed as well and feel free to write about them.
Grading Rubric: 10 points total
Question 1-2.5 points (.25 points each)
Question 2-6 points (.5 points for each correct calculation)
Question 3-1.5 points (was answer accurate, clearly written, and easy to understand)
